Riding the subway
Tap your card at the gate to enter. Busan Metro runs Lines 1 to 4 plus the Gimhae Light Rail.
How it works
1. Lines and key stations
Busan Metro has Lines 1 to 4 plus the Gimhae Light Rail linking Busan and Gimhae. Busan Station is on Line 1, Seomyeon is on Lines 1 and 2, and Haeundae and Centum City are on Line 2.
2. How to ride
Tap your transit card at the gate to enter, and tap again at your destination to exit. Fares are distance-based, so travelling past your paid section means settling the difference. Transfers between lines are handled inside the station — just follow the signs.
- Tap your card at the gate to enter
- Check the direction on the platform
- Tap again to exit at your station
3. Signs and facilities
Station names appear in both Korean and English, with Japanese added at major stations. On-board announcements are in Korean and English, and sometimes Japanese. Elevators and escalators are available at major stations.
Tips
- A transit card makes entering and exiting quick and easy.
- Trains are crowded at rush hour; shifting your timing helps if you have a suitcase.
